Australia’s Pilates Expert – Sally Anderson
Sally Anderson has been a leader in developing the professional development of the Pilates Method in Australia.
Sally is the founder and director of Pilates International Pty Ltd and the Pilates International Training Centre (PITC) established in 2004 and founder / president of the Pilates Alliance Australasia, PAA(www.pilates.org,au).
PITC has become the first government registered training organisation the world, PITC RTO NO 40941. The training courses now articulate into Bachelor degrees in alignment with Canberra University.
Sally has been involved in the Pilates industry for over 25 years and trained with master Pilates Instructor Rael Isacowitz (BASI) in the late 1980’s.
I first met Sally in 2004. I had heard that previous Pilates qualifications were now bridging to PITC courses and through word of mouth I decided to align myself with a government registered qualification.
I enrolled in PITC Diploma in Pilates Instruction and prepared myself for a commitment to the industry involving further education and improved quality of instruction for my clientele.
At the time PITC courses were not online study, so it meant travelling to Sydney from Brisbane every six / eight weeks for hands on practical study.
I met Sally on our first contact weekend and found her to be friendly and knowledgeable and went home feeling I had made a good decision in furthering my education. Away we went for the next 18 months, reading, practising and sharing the Pilates Method with other trainees and mentors. Although I was exhausted after the completion of my Diploma I then went on to complete the Advanced Diploma taking another 18 months. I have embraced the industry and continue the never ever ending journey into “Pilates”.
Sally Anderson has an infectious passion for the industry. Her thoughtful and relaxed style encourages personal confidence and commitment. She has educated herself not only in the Pilates industry but also with an Advanced Diploma in Management, Cert IV Training and Assessment and completing an Advanced Diploma in Nutrition Medicine. She has toured nationally with Cirque du Soleli as their Pilates expert, written regularly for the Sunday Telegraph body + soul articles, has written the first in a series of workout books, contributes as a guest instructor for US Pilates Anytime website and shares her knowledge and skills with Pilates instructors both nationally and internationally assisting in developing their / our knowledge in the Pilates Method.
I see Sally Anderson as an innovator in the quality and delivery of Pilates Instruction in Australia, and thank her for her passion, time and commitment.
