Pilates Matwork is a very important version of the Pilates Method. You can attend LIVE Matwork with Denitta in the comfort of your own home. Pilates Online Matwork classes are taught using all participants can be seen by the instructor for corrections and reinforcement.
The classes often use small apparatus including FitBalls, TheraBands, ChiBalls, Foam Rollers, Magic Circles and more... classes are adapted to the level of participants attending offering introduction Pilates repertoire or challenge. You'll develop a firm, strong and more flexible body.

Denitta is a PAA Level 4 Pilates Instructor with a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in the Pilates Method with 17 years of teaching experience in Pilates and over 30 years in health and fitness. Denitta and staff will teach each client, meeting their individual needs. All bodies, ages, sporting and rehabilitation requirements can be accommodated, and we welcome all new clients from beginner to advanced to come along to start your Pilates journey with us.

History of Matwork
Return to life outlined Joe’s Contrology exercises, a series of exercises to be performed on the Mat, beginning with his introductory lesson, The Hundred. He believed that one should begin with this exercise and that each exercise should be mastered before proceeding progressively to the following exercise. His Contrology exercises evolved from a personal or home practise routine into a ‘class’ type sequence in response to demand for his services outside of his fully equipped studio in New York and largely, thanks to the connections Pilates had in the dance community of the time.

My Take on Matwork...
I love Matwork... listen to the Pilates instructor and tune into your body. Breathe, inhale, exhale.
The instructors voice guiding you through Pilates exercises. Working with your own body to activate, relax or just awareness in muscles groups without any feedback from equipment and relying on your proprioception – Where am I in space ?
When you are first starting Matwork it will require concentration and focus to coordinate how your body is moving. It will get easier as time goes on and your alignment, strength, flexibility and awareness will change the way you move.
Pilates Online Matwork is a great complement to your Pilates Studio training, increasing Pilates training to more than once per week. I'd love to see you doing Pilates every day.
